Compare and Contrast

I listened to type radio.

Type radio had many podcast's even though they were saying the same thing there were many choices. I felt these podcast were very tedious, due to them being dull and extremely long I had a very short attention span.

Rookie designer had one podcast to choose from and it discussed the many different programs of the web. This podcast was also tedious and did not draw in my attention.

I think podcast should have background sounds such as music or maybe a little humor. Something to draw in the listeners attention. If the podcast is long and dull the listener will not be drawn in and within a minute stop listening. Being creative with your podcast is extremely important!

Learning Reflections 9/26

In this week I have learned how to operate and conduct a blog. I also learned how to post HTML links, make a podcast, and post an RSS code to my blog. During this past week I have also helped others with their blog. I think this is a very wonderful experience because it is giving me more knowledge on web design and helping me develop leadership skills when helping others. I look forward to learning more from web design class.

What I Know About Web Design

Web design is important because once a person enters the web site the automatically know whether they want to continue going on the website or not from the design of the cover page when entering. If the cover page of the website those not attract peoples attention they are more than likely to not re-visit the website again. Also when entering the website people like to know what is the purpose of the website.If they do not know the purpose of the website how do you expect them to continue surfing through the website? This is also a very important factor of web design. It is important to have a creative and clear presentation on your website.

Autumn

Netiquette

       Netiquette is respecting another persons privacy, opinions, or discussions while on the internet. I believe I have good netiquette, the majority of the time. For example, when emailing things I try to address and greet the person with a warm, friendly approach. Another Example is when logging onto social networks. Many people share their beliefs, opinions, and have discussion. You might not agree with other peoples opinions and beliefs, and you are able to share your own as well, but it is important to approach it in a nice and friendly way. Having good netiquette is important because if you have a negative approach you are more than likely to get a negative response. Also a negative netiquette can say a lot about you through your digital footprint. 
      
 

Digital Footprint

A digital footprint is basically a history or trail left by you on the internet. Social networks, pictures, or accounts made by you can be traced by other people. Your digital footprint can be accessible on mobile devices, T.V., and computers. It is an imprint left by you on the internet.

A positive digital footprint is important because in the future jobs and schools can easily pull up your digital footprint and see what have you done in your past. If your digital footprint is not positive it might have a negative impact on things your interested in doing in the near future. So it is extremely important to make sure your digital footprint is positive. Also who you associate yourself online with is it important also because strangers over the internet can find out a lot of things about you through your digital footprint.

  

Academic Integrity

Academic integrity is knowing the values of honesty; this means no cheating or plagiarism. All work must be your own. Plagiarism is when you take another persons work and use it as your own. Plagiarizing is unfair to the person who did work. There are consequences if get plagiarizing another persons work. If you get caught plagiarizing in school you can possibly be suspended or expelled.

Blogging

Blogging is a website in which people share and comment their personal opinions on certain things. I follow a couple of interesting Hip-Hop and Christian blogs. One of the many Hip-Hop blogs I follow is "The Boom Box". It gives me the latest updates on new music and artist. I visit the website daily to see whats new and what has been going on in the music industry. Another interesting blog I follow is "ChristianPiatt" this blog helps me understand things I don't understand at church and also helps answer questions that I have.   
While searching on the internet I came across a couple of Hip-Hop blogs that seemed interesting to me.
